"Sunday Best" Is More Than What You Wear

by sunDAE's Boutique 18 Sep 2026

Sunday’s best is not just about what you wear on Sunday. It’s about giving God your best, not just on Sunday, but every day. It’s about being Christ-like, not just on Sunday, but every day. It’s about using your gifts, your talents, your life, and being a willing vessel, not just on Sunday, but every day.

Culture has minimized encounters with God to Sundays. Even Christians have minimized their expectation of God to Sundays. But the God that we serve, who is the God of all, deserves to be praised, worshipped, and magnified each and every day of our lives. So even though we may recognize Sunday culturally as the day we reverence the God that we serve, we should all be reminded of His glory that carries us on Monday, on Tuesday, on Wednesday, on Thursday, on Friday, on Saturday, and on Sunday.

When I think of getting dressed for church, I think about entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise. I’m going to give Him my very best when I enter into church to praise Him on Sunday. But it’s also my duty as a believer to give Him my best during the week, give Him my praise during the week, and give Him my worship during the week. Because as I decrease, He increases within me. As I deny my flesh, His Spirit strengthens me.

So no, I do not wait until Sunday to give God my best. I put my best foot forward daily, and when Sunday comes, I rejoice knowing that I am entering into His gates with praise and thanksgiving for carrying me through the week. And the good thing about it is that I get to do this with my sisters and brothers in Christ who serve and love the same God that I do. We get to rejoice together. We get to praise this great God together. We get to worship this great God together. We get to experience an encounter and be in complete awe of the God that we serve together.

God gives us His best daily. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus, to die for us. It gets no better than Jesus. So we owe Him our best.

Reflection

What vision has God given you that feels bigger than you? What has been holding you back from moving forward with it? Take a moment to write down the ways God has provided for you in the past. How can His faithfulness then remind you to trust Him now? This week: Take one step toward the vision God gave you, even if you don't have the entire plan figured out yet.
